Residence Inn Providence Downtown

It’s an easy place to stay for an event, with the convention center, Providence place mall, Omni, and Amica Pavilion close by. Everything felt clean and it’s very walkable. Parking is tricky, and while valet is offered, a car really isn’t needed here. I also appreciated the security. My name wasn’t on the room, and when I tried to ride back up, they held me at the elevators until the person on the account answered and approved it. A slight hassle for me, but exactly the right policy. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.

Front desk staff and the valets were friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was decent. The king room had a kitchenette with a full-size fridge, a couch that may have been a pullout, and a small vanity outside the bathroom. We barely heard anything from the hall or other rooms, though ours was as far from the elevator as it could be. There wasn’t any outdoor spot on the property to sit and relax, and the so-called parking was just the fire lane. We used valet for two nights so we wouldn’t have to keep track of where the car could stay or for how long. Third-party garages overnight should cost less. It’s a centrally located, residence-style hotel near downtown Providence.

I’d suggest this place to anyone needing a longer stay. Shawn and Mikala were great, and really all the late night desk staff were terrific, especially considering I can be a pain in the neck. I wish the hotel had its own parking, though the valet crew was awesome. The woman who prepared breakfast on my last night was amazing too. In my room, the cracked stove seemed like a safety concern, and the dishwasher filters weren’t clean.

The kitchenette had a fridge and freezer, and the room itself was clean with a comfortable bed. I had a really nice stay. For a business trip lasting any amount of time, this place would work wonderfully.
