The room was clean, though pretty small, and breakfast was an okay continental spread. There was only one kind of K-cup coffee, so a few choices would have been nice. The location is a real plus, with everything in Provincetown an easy walk away. What didn’t work for us was the service and the price. We paid over $300 a night, but after about 11 a.m. there was no staff around at all. When we ran out of toilet paper, nobody answered our text, so we had to find some ourselves in a supply closet. We also had to hunt for a garbage bag. The back door was left open, with no staff or security on site, which made the place feel unsafe. For that price, I expected at least one person to be available. The pool had been advertised, but it wasn’t open or clean over Memorial Day weekend. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you need much in the way of customer service.

The host was friendly, and the location was good. But the room shown online looked cozy thanks to the wide-angle photos, while the actual space was extremely tiny, around 9 square meters, or about 95 square feet. The bed is roughly 160x200 and set across the room. There’s barely space for a suitcase alongside your travel partner. The toilet would only suit a small, slim person. It’s also noisy because the room is right on the street and the walls are thin. Booking.com doesn’t say how big the room is.

Jose made our stay especially easy. He was friendly, accommodating, and quick to take care of anything we needed. Breakfast was fresh and ready on time each morning, and coffee, biscotti, and fresh fruit were available all day. We spent four nights at The Clarendon House and loved it. The room was spotless, the property was well kept, and having a/c during the hot summer weather was great. Free parking was another plus. Bring bikes if you can. The pool, jacuzzi, and rooftop deck gave us a private spot to unwind. The location is great too, just a 30-second walk to commercial street. We’ll definitely stay here again when we come back to p-town.

Jose and the staff were wonderful, and the backyard and roof terrace made nice places to hang out. The rooms were great, with a good breakfast and plenty of coffee choices. It’s centrally located, but being a street off Commercial keeps it quiet. We’ll definitely come back. Highly recommend.

We had a great weekend at the Clarendon House with friends, apart from the mold in our bathroom. The location and free parking made it easy to pop back after shopping and leave our bags rather than carry them around. We stayed in the Race Point room, which we knew would be tight, and the pictures were accurate. I wouldn’t put more than two people in there. The bathroom is tiny, with only a toilet, small sink, and standing shower. I’m 5’2 and had about two inches between my knees and the wall when sitting on the toilet. My husband is taller and had to sit a bit sideways to fit. There’s a cute shared living room with free coffee and tea, plus desks for working. Breakfast is included from 8-11 a.m. The problem was what looked like black mold on the bathroom ceiling. We didn’t raise it with the owner until checkout. For the weekend, we kept the bathroom door shut and slept with the windows open. When we asked at checkout, he said he already knew and hoped to repair it or replace the ceiling in winter. Maybe I should have mentioned it at check-in, but the house was fully booked and there wasn’t really another room option. I hope it gets fixed, because otherwise we had a great stay.
