It’s been six days since we left, and we’re still telling family and friends about the Inn and the Ohlys. Our room was cozy and charming, and breakfast was delicious. We also loved seeing and hearing the farm animals, especially the dogs, cats, and chickens, and found their children delightful. Lani and Dr. Karl are such gracious, hardworking, ambitious people. We enjoyed sitting and talking with them and listening to stories about what they’ve experienced. They seem so positive about the challenges and hard work ahead. We’d happily return, and recommend the Inn for its peaceful rural setting and wonderful hosts.

Seeing the Milky Way spread across the dark sky was one of the highlights of our stay at the Inn on Lake Champlain. It became a memorable part of our bike ride north on the Empire State Trail toward the Canadian border, along with the conversations with Karl and Lani, their children, and the other guests. We stayed one night during our five-day trip. Karl and Lani welcomed us warmly and were ready even though we arrived early. After a long, hilly ride, it was lovely to unwind in our well-appointed room, with places to sit, a lake view, and beautiful quilts on the bed and wall. The food, made with fresh produce from the farm, was the best of our trip. Thank you, Lani and Karl!

The farm tour was full of interesting insights and little side stories, and the handmade quilts and delicious breakfast showed the care put into the hospitality. Lani, the multi-talented owner, was an amazing hostess with impeccable taste and an eye for detail. We loved the old-world feel and the simple reality of farm life. The farm dogs are there to greet you when you arrive, and a friendly cat might join you on a morning walk. You’ll see hens and roosters around too. The hosts are lovely and happy to share what farming life is like. Breakfast was a treat, with farm-fresh eggs, fruit, and tasty baked goods. Morning coffee and tea gave us a chance to meet the other guests. Highly recommend the experience!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but wanted to support the Ohly family. We found the house and rooms clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, even better than it looked in the pictures, and we enjoyed chatting with Karl, Lani, and their kids. My brother, his wife, and I were in the Lake George area on a last-minute motorcycle trip. We admire the sustainable life the family is living and wish them all the best. We’ll definitely stay with them again next time we’re nearby.
