Countryside Inn

The room smelled awful, musty, like sage burning. We opened the door and window to air it out, then waited outside. When I went back in to check the beds, they were covered in stains, and the bathroom was dirty. Everything, even the light switch, was held together with duct tape. Outside, a strange man was standing behind the office staring at me while smoking something. I put my kids back in the car and told the office manager I couldn’t stay because of the smell. He did refund my money, which I appreciate. We were there about 20 minutes before leaving, and thankfully I found somewhere else for the weekend. When I arrived, the pool was closed with caution tape around it, and sheets were hanging over the office windows. I had to call to check in, and the man said the pillowcases were on their way, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

We came back late after being out all day for a family function and found the tiny cabin disgusting. The bathroom had no ventilation, and the whole place had a moldy, musty smell. The shower curtain was moldy, the towels were dirty and smelled horrible, and the comforter was stained all over. I also found a few hairs on the bedsheet. I checked in at 4pm but hadn’t had time to inspect the place earlier. I wasn’t going to post a review after just one night, but management never responded when I reached out. At $140 a night, never again.

I was coming back from Burlington, CT and needed a place to sleep for the night. I got the last room available. It was clean, though dated, and I actually liked the retro, throwback feel. Nothing fancy, just what I needed before heading home. The owner or desk person was very nice and friendly, a good start to the stay. If you’re after a decent place and don’t need anything fancy, this works.

Cute little cabins and cabin-style rooms, clean, comfortable, and not fancy. It’s on the outskirts, but just down the street from the outlets. Everything was spotless except the bathroom mirror. That was the only negative, and it may just have been a new housekeeping person. Not a big deal. I’m planning to stay again, probably in the fall.
