Dunham's Bay Resort

We spent three hours on the water in a rented boat and had a really relaxing time. It was our first vacation up here, and the kids wanted to get out on the lake. Lisa, the owner, was very helpful and showed us a map, including where to go and where to avoid. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to others.

We only pulled in to turn around and take a look at the place, but the same person mentioned in earlier reviews came out acting hostile. I walked over and apologized politely for being on the property, and he responded by verbally abusing me. If you can't even come onto the property to ask about marina services without being accosted, why would we do business here? As boaters, we'd never consider it. There are two other marinas on either side, so please go there and be treated without hostility. These reviews are accurate, and if zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.

We were visiting Lake George and stopped for about 30 seconds in the Dunham's Bay Boat & Beach Club parking area to take a photo of the water. We didn't even turn off the engine. A man who I assume works there came over and threatened to call the police, saying we'd stepped onto private property. How could he know we weren't Club guests or thinking of becoming guests? The encounter left us with a poor impression of the Club and the people in the area. I wouldn't recommend going onto the property and dealing with that unfriendly service.

Please don't put yourself through the rudeness here. I've visited marinas all over the world, and never had a boat owner tell me to “get out!” because my family and I “didn’t belong here.” These people were in their sixties, and you'd think they'd know how to speak politely in front of kids. By far the rudest, most obnoxious people I've encountered. This marina isn't worth visiting.
