Hampton Inn Quincy

Quincy is nearby and has convenient amenities for travelers. The hotel is easy to reach from the Interstate, but far enough away that traffic noise wasn't an issue. There was quite a bit of renovation work happening during our visit, so it affected the stay somewhat. Even so, I'd consider coming back.

I couldn't sleep because the highway noise was so loud. The building is right beside the road, the walls are thin, and the air conditioners seem to be installed poorly. It felt like the window was open and the highway was inside the room. Avoid this hotel.

As a loyal Hampton customer, I'm extremely disappointed by this stay. The construction is serious enough that the property should close temporarily or cut rates drastically until it meets Hampton's standards. Instead, the nightly price is wildly out of line with the current condition. In the lobby, some tiles were only partly laid and separation stakes were sticking up, an obvious trip hazard. Fire detection equipment and emergency signage or lamination were taped over, which raises serious safety concerns and is unacceptable. I understand that hotels need renovations, but not how work at this level can go on without a temporary closure. Expedia's photos show the property when it was new, or what it hopes to be, and don't reflect the current reality. I'm very disappointed that the listing advertises it that way.

We paid more than $500 for the stay and ended up checking out early for another hotel. The person at the desk said they were sold out when I asked to move rooms, but said the people above us were leaving that day. She also asked what I did on the first night. Noise made the room hard to tolerate. The AC sounded like a waterfall every time it started, and the walls seemed paper-thin. Before 7am, I could hear our neighbors opening a can and belching, while the room above us stomped around for two solid hours, from 5am to 7am. We've always had good stays at Hampton Inn hotels before, but this one wasn't acceptable.
