Holiday Inn Express Boston South - Quincy by IHG

The hotel was in poor shape overall. Wind noise from outside was constant, the room made cracking sounds as we walked around, and the soundproofing between rooms was terrible. I didn't expect luxury, but basic courtesy and customer service should be standard. I wouldn't stay here again, even as a last-minute option, or recommend it to anyone I know. The laundry incident was especially unpleasant. When I tried to use the guest laundry, a housekeeper yelled at me and stared me down. She said the machine was leaking and out of order, but was washing dirty towels in both the washer and dryer while I waited. I asked whether housekeeping had a separate machine, and she said they only have one and are instructed to use the guest machines, with a very rude attitude. If the machine is broken, it makes no sense for staff to use it while turning guests away.

It's 12/26 and they still haven't cleaned my room in four days. We asked twice in two days and they simply haven't done it. Rooms are only cleaned every third day unless you request service, which is wild to me. I asked four days ago and was told it would be done, but here we are. With a severe flu outbreak in the area, this is getting close to a health hazard. Avoid this hotel.

I rarely leave reviews, but Travis at the front desk deserves recognition. His patience, attitude, and customer service are hard to find these days, even at five-star hotels. Management should be very proud to have him on the team.

We forgot to pack a toothbrush, and the staff kindly offered us one. Late at night, our room felt cold even with the A/C set to heat, so we called the front desk. They offered extra blankets or a room change, and the blankets got us through the night. Breakfast had a good variety of options. Good staff and management.
