Hyatt House Tallahassee Capitol – University

The location is fantastic: close to FSU, the stadium, restaurants, and within walking distance of parts of College Town. Parking took a little figuring out the first time, but was fine after that. I found the hotel comfortable, safe, and convenient, and would stay again. I hope they keep up with maintenance while the hotel is still fairly new. The lobby and bar have a bright, open, welcoming feel, and the hotel looks fresh and modern. Staff were friendly whenever I spoke with them. My spacious room had a separate living area, though on closer look there was a little dust on the shelves and a half-used bottle of dish soap. The large, well-designed bathroom had some light rust on a fixture and a slow drain. Nothing was gross, but those details stood out. Breakfast was decent, though the hours seemed early for late arrivals or people attending events. Some food wasn't restocked near the end unless someone asked.

Stayed in mid-January. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the fan ran continuously, which helped me sleep. Everything was clean, functional, and in good shape. The staff were friendly, breakfast was included and fine, and casting from my device to the TV was easy. It's a quiet spot a few blocks from the bustle. I didn't use the pool or gym, though the pool was heated. The shower pressure was low. Early on, it took eight minutes for the water to start getting hot, so I had to take a longer shower. The $25 daily parking charge was an unexpected extra. I could hear the train and construction at the station, but it wasn't a big deal. There was one cockroach.

A last-minute trip brought us to Tallahassee, and I impulsively booked Hyatt House after reading reviews because my daughter needed a separate room. It turned out to be an awesome accidental find. I'd never been to the Railroad Square area before and absolutely loved it. We were there for four days. The hotel was extremely clean and well looked after, and the staff were great the whole time. I'd definitely return.

I stopped here after a long drive and was glad I picked it. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a full kitchen, couch, sitting area, and a TV that swivels between the bedroom and living room. Parking on site was free. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again. Only downside: the lobby coffee was cold.
