Western Inn Motel - Quitman

The final surprise came after checkout: about half an hour down the road, I realized I’d left my driver’s license behind. I turned around, went back, and they had it. The sheets and blankets were stained, though, and I was too exhausted from traveling to leave. There’s a reason they say “no refund” after check-in. I also saw a small dog tied on a short leash with no water, when it was over 95 degrees outside. This place needs better management. I should’ve stayed away after reading the reviews.

The rooms looked clean, and I had no other problems with my nice room. Guests who’d been staying there longer were really helpful. But I saw bed bugs in my bed. My friend didn’t have any in her room, so maybe I just had bad luck. I wish I could rate the place better, but bed bugs are a dealbreaker.

For the money, it’s a good value. The grounds and facility were clean and nice, and the room was cozy, though the mattresses were very firm. It was mostly quiet, and the staff were friendly even though we checked in well after midnight. I’d stay again. A great bargain room.

Papa’s a really good old guy and looked out for us. We came in after the storm to help with cleanup, and we’ve seen much worse. Not a bad place for a quick nap. 🤣
