Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rancho Cordova

The hotel looked like it needed a serious update, and the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy, not how I remembered it from childhood. I also didn't care for the way the day shift worker's boss talked down to her as if she were stupid. She was extremely pleasant and helpful, and deserves a raise. People like her bring customers back. I got stuck in Sacramento because of insane fog after driving for six hours and needing a rest. This was the only available hotel in the whole area, almost like something out of a movie. The overnight woman at the desk was awesome, though the other guests weren't so great.

I canceled through the third-party booking service because of the room's condition and the lack of help. During checkout, with her manager Tee there, Jackie yelled at me, rolled her eyes, and smirked. Tee stood by and let her carry on without saying anything. That was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. At check-in, Jackie was rude and dismissive when we asked for the king-size non-smoking room we'd paid for, one that didn't face the street so we could see our car. She seemed unwilling to help, rolled her eyes, and acted inconvenienced. She said, with an attitude, "Girl, it is what it is!" The room we got was extremely dirty, some lights didn't work, and it looked nothing like the online pictures. When we raised this, Jackie said there were no other rooms and that we'd have to pay extra to move to a queen bed, even though we'd just checked in. This happened at Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Rancho Cordova, CA, on January 30, 2025, at 8pm PST. I'm surprised someone who treats guests this way is allowed at the front desk. Between the poor service and dirty hotel, it was one of my worst hotel stays. I don't recommend staying here. I'd give zero stars if I could.

You get what you pay for, and the rent is cheap, so I don't have major complaints. The room was tidy, the washroom clean, the location quiet, and the staff friendly. There was plenty of parking, and breakfast was simple but fine. A few things weren't good: no hot water at the washbasin, a bedside clock that didn't work, a torn cover on the ironing board, and holes in the sheets that looked like cigarette burns. The AC leaked water onto the carpet whenever it ran, so I couldn't use it unless I wanted a soggy floor. The carpet was worn out, there was mold in the bathroom, and the maid had left a used bar of soap in the shower. I expected the room to be somewhat decent, but it was one of the worst I've stayed in.
