I’ve been coming here on and off for ten years, and this time I really didn’t want to leave. I felt safe, the place was quiet and clean, and the staff were helpful. The parking lot was tidy, the stairs and elevator were in good shape, and there were hardly any non-guests hanging around. I appreciated all the dog waste bag stations being stocked. When the luggage carts went missing, several staff members went looking for them. Troy from maintenance was friendly and showed up on time, and management told me to let them know if I needed anything while they keep working on the property. The room was spotless, including the floors, walls, window, and AC filter. The bed was comfortable, with storage underneath that my goofy dog turned into a hiding spot. The kitchenette was unusually well equipped: a nearly full-size fridge already cold, ice trays, coffee maker and supplies, toaster, microwave, two-burner stove, clean cupboards, kitchen towels, dish rack, and a good-sized bin with a spare bag. Nothing leaked, and the table and chairs were steady. The bathroom had enough towels, working drains, an adjustable shower head, shelf space, and no mold or bugs. All the lights and outlets worked, and there was an iron and board, dresser, hangers, and closet shelf. The remote worked too. The room’s AC was cold without being too loud, more like white noise. They’ve made an amazing turnaround, and the staff are a great example of how to run a hotel.

We’ve been able to sleep peacefully here because it’s been very quiet, and we’re grateful for that. When we’ve raised a room concern, the team has been quick to accommodate us or fix it. Victor, Nin, Tina, Tanesha, Cameron, Mike, Rakesh, Daniella and Julesha are all warm and friendly, and greet us with joy so we feel like family. I believe the property is under new management, and they’re doing an exceptional job. It had been badly neglected, so turning it around was a huge task, but they’ve made a lot of positive progress in a short time. Safety and customer service clearly matter to them. They’re working hard through a full remodel, room by room, and improving the shared areas too.

My mother and I have had a great experience here, especially compared with the other hotels we stayed at. The father of the owners is so polite and keeps the laundry room clean and stocked. We can always get toilet paper and towels in the morning, and there’s coffee for my mom. The large fridge and freezer are another plus. We’ve got no complaints, and for the price and what you get, it may be the best hotel in rancho Cordova. I wouldn’t spend more if I didn’t have to. My mother usually reviews food, but we wanted to speak up about this place.

At about 1:00 AM, I had to pack up everything and go back to the desk because the key for the replacement room wouldn’t work. The whole interaction felt dismissive, and the employee smirked while apologizing. Eventually I got a working key and a different room, but the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I won’t recommend this hotel, and I plan to report the treatment to the Better Business Bureau. This started when we entered a room that smelled strongly and unpleasantly of marijuana, despite my request for a non-smoking room. Then the front desk called to say she had “forgotten” to charge another $11, which felt questionable given the room’s condition. When I asked for a refund, I was told to speak to the manager, and the call ended abruptly. On calling back, I was told the manager wasn’t available and that a refund wasn’t possible, though I could change rooms. Update from that night: my neighbor was a heavy marijuana user and was choking on his own spit all night. So even if you get a non-smoking room, the place is terrible all around.

If you have allergies, I’d avoid this place. The first-floor room smelled strongly of Fabuloso, and the heater had that burnt-roach smell I’ve run into in other cheap motels. The room was okay at best: the bed was compressed at both ends, and the mattress and air quality were both disappointing. Everything looked dated, though the paint made it seem like someone had tried to freshen it up. The TV had decent channels, even with its burnt screen. Check-in was a hassle at the kiosk, where a person appeared on webcam. The sound was painfully loud, with no volume control, and the strong accent made it hard to understand what the kiosk attendant was saying. A process that could have been quick turned frustrating. Afterward I drove around the whole building trying to find my room because nobody explained where it was. Checkout was easy, and a staff member said my deposit would be returned to my card. The coffee, though, was instant from a machine, served in a tiny cup with no sugar, creamer, or lid. There was plenty of artificial sweetener for anyone who likes instant black coffee very sweet. Saving on overnight front desk staff didn’t even result in decent morning coffee. I don’t think I’d stay here again and would probably avoid it. For me, it isn’t good value, more like a $40 stay at best.
