We've stayed here before and always had good service, but this last visit the staff went above and beyond. On the first night, we arrived late and I wanted a bath, but the tub in our room wouldn't stay plugged. The front desk moved us to another room without question, and the rest of the stay went well. We had to leave early for home, and I woke up late, so we rushed out. Around 1 in the afternoon I realized my engagement ring was missing and called to ask if they could look. Housekeeping had already cleaned the room, but they still went to check. The friend I was visiting also went over, just in case, and saw that staff had torn the room apart searching: they took apart the vacuum cleaners, moved furniture, checked all the laundry, and even looked in the air vents. I later searched my car top to bottom after work and found the ring there. The point is, these wonderful people tried so hard to help me find it. They have a great staff, and I've already booked my next stay.

I didn't even stay here. I cleaned up the room for the person who had, wiping the counters and table and putting all the trash neatly in or next to the can. Then the owner tried to charge that person $50 for room cleaning. She also started talking badly about the person to others around town, which was totally unprofessional. The hotel advertises an indoor pool and has a pool sign on the building, but there is no pool. For what they charge in Rantoul, it's a joke. They changed the name and the service got worse. Stay somewhere else if you're visiting.

When we arrived at Knights Inn, they couldn't find our reservation, even though they'd already charged the card. We had to contact reservations and wait around 30 minutes before we could get to our rooms. My room wasn't okay: the door was propped open with a trash can, and water was dripping from under the bathroom sink onto the carpet. A towel was already on the wet carpet. I won't stay here again.

The door had a huge gap around the frame, letting cold air and rain inside. The carpet was so gross I didn't want to walk on it, and it had burn holes, as did the blankets. The curtains were badly discolored and couldn't be closed because their rod was broken. The room light had no switch or bulb, leaving just a useless lamp, and the bathroom door was a poor replacement that wouldn't shut. It was the dirtiest, most run-down hotel I've stayed in. They also charged extra because it was moms weekend at U of I. I paid as much for this awful place as I have for an upscale hotel in the City of Chicago. Do not stay here.

I was really pleased with our stay. The hotel was inexpensive, and the indoor pool was warm, well kept, and open for great hours. On our last morning, they'd run out of milk and I was pretty peeved, ready to complain. Before I could, the desk employee had noticed and the manager called to offer a credit for breakfast somewhere else. Excellent customer service.
