Residence Inn Rapid City

The room was spacious and looked recently remodeled, with a kitchenette for making meals. There’s free breakfast every morning and a couple of gas grills on the patio. The bed felt a little lumpy, but was still comfortable. If you want housekeeping, just ask the night before, which is easy enough. It’s a handy base for the area’s parks, including Black Hills, Devil's Tower, Badlands, and Crazy Horse Mountain, with what you need for a trip nearby. I’ll probably stay again when we come back to see how the Crazy Horse Memorial is progressing.

The room setup felt odd compared with other hotels, and the rooms seemed a bit small. I’m not a fan of the half-glass shower because water gets everywhere. Breakfast was pretty good, but with so many people staying there, getting food meant competing with the crowd. We stayed three nights, and the soundproofing didn’t seem very good. The people above me kept jumping around, and I could hear what seemed like every step when they got out of bed.

The suite had lots of room to spread out and a family-friendly layout. I liked that there were fewer tables and similar things for little kids to fall into. The lobby was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were super nice, and the full hot breakfast was great. The water park was a fun extra for the kids. We’ll definitely stay again sometime.

I liked this hotel after a couple of nights and would definitely come back. The king suite had a fridge, microwave, glasses, a sink, and a great TV with streaming options and a good connection. The room thermostat was easy to use and kept the temperature accurate, which isn’t always the case at hotels. There’s a small bar area called Slider's where you can get food and a drink, and Watiki swimming area is a short walk through the hotel. Everyone was very nice. Highly recommended.
