The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the property was quiet at night. It’s also handy for several restaurants, including an excellent Mexican place nearby. The front desk staff were professional, friendly, and helped with the issues I raised. I booked Suburban Studios this week for my first stay there. Check-in went smoothly, and the room has been updated and modernized. I don’t use the kitchenette, but it’s nice to have it if I come back for a vacation in Myrtle Beach. The man at the desk also explained that Econo Lodge on the same property is still on the app and how to find it for my next visit while working in town. There were some things management should address. My office chair was broken, and the replacement had a worn headrest. That didn’t bother me, but another guest could take it as a sign that furniture isn’t being maintained. I’d like the owners to check furniture regularly and replace pieces that are broken or worn down. All my towels were dirty, so I took them to the desk and got clean ones. Housekeeping shouldn’t roll up dirty towels and leave them under the sink for the next guest. Even if they’ve been washed, they need to be checked. If the towels are old, buy new ones. The pool was closed and dirty just before spring break and summer, which is prime pool season for families. It should be put in proper condition for guests. Aside from those issues, Suburban Studios isn’t a bad hotel, and I look forward to trying Econo Lodge on the property next time I’m in Myrtle Beach for work.

I couldn’t sleep under the sheets. The pictures I provided show pet damage, mattresses soaked with pee, and towels, sheets, and blankets that hadn’t been washed. The room was unsafe, unclean, and depressing, and it completely ruined my recent stay. I’m asking for a full reimbursement. I’ll keep posting reviews and contact the guest experience line so other potential guests know before spending their money.

The whole building smelled of pee and stale cigarettes as soon as I walked in. With a room in that condition, charging a deposit is ridiculous. The towels and washcloths were brown instead of white, the sheets looked used, and the floor was so filthy I wouldn’t take off my shoes. It was clear the room hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. This place needs a full deep clean and a management overhaul. I’d never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

I spent half the night in my vehicle because the rooms felt so creepy, and I didn’t feel comfortable lying in the bed or taking a shower. These days, guests hang out outside because the rooms they paid for are unbearable. I used to spend thousands of dollars here in 2020, and it’s a shame how far it’s fallen. If you’re thinking of staying, don’t. Save your money and sleep in your vehicle. I’d stayed here hundreds of times, back when it was Conway’s best kept secret and Steve was the manager. Whoever took over since January has ruined it. The floors are lumpy and caving in, and the furniture is dinged up and destroyed. The place felt too nasty to shower or use the bathroom. The microwave had rust all over its inside. Spiders, gnats, moths, roaches, and bed bugs were the first things I noticed in the rooms. The other building, with indoor hallways, is still great and much cleaner, except it has bed bugs and spiders too. I miss the old manager Steve and his wife. You guys missed the glory days.

It was my first trip to Myrtle Beach, and the room at Suburban Studios at the University was clean and very nice for an affordable price. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Finding the hotel was difficult as a first-time visitor because the signage needs improvement, and getting in from the road and moving around the hotel was hard to navigate.
