Breakfast was the one letdown, with a small selection, though that makes sense for a continental breakfast. There’s a Dennys 3min away. I’m usually a Hilton person and was hesitant, but the hotel surprised me in a good way. It was very clean and updated, and the showers were spacious. We’d stay again.
Ranecia, the night attendant, was amazing, so helpful, informative, and sweet. My family and I have stayed here several times and keep coming back for the comfortable rooms, good breakfast, and best night attendant ever. The day shift workers have been dismissive in my experience, but we only have to deal with them briefly since we check out soon after breakfast. S/O to Wyndham, yall are the best!
I booked this La Quinta from Houston for a two day weekend event near the hotel, and stayed 22-24 August 2025. There was road construction nearby, though the hotel itself wasn’t involved. The first thing I noticed was a moderate raw sewage smell from the toilet, contained to the bathroom at first. Since I’d be out most of the time, I shut the bathroom door Friday night and managed. There was also a baseball tournament in town, with teams taking up rooms. I was out most of Saturday and returned after 11pm. By then, the sewage smell had spread through the whole room, even with the bathroom door and toilet seat closed. It was coming from the toilet and pipes, and also through the sink and shower drains. The room couldn’t be aired out. The hotel was fully booked, so I had to sleep there. I worried that pipes might have burst and that the potable water could also be contaminated. At checkout, the front desk clerk said the manager wasn’t on site. I told Sarah at the desk, and she immediately wrote down the room number, as if she already had a running list of these reports. She gave me the corporate phone number and the GM’s email. The schedule I was given for Katrina Duncan seemed questionable for an “on-site” manager who was rarely in the building. We’re well into October now, but after my August stay the only follow-up has been a few auto-generated emails. The issue still hasn’t been resolved, and I’ve never spoken with Katrina Duncan, the location’s GM. The replies I got were AI generated, included an out-of-office message, and kept asking me to explain the problem again. I’ll see whether corporate can do better, because the GM for this location seems like a bot. It’s distasteful and reflects terribly on the company when staff are nonchalant about guest problems and rooms are rented when they clearly need service and maintenance. Absolutely unacceptable!
The street construction made getting to the hotel a bit inconvenient, but the rest of our stay was perfect. The hotel was very clean, parking was ample, and the service was great. We missed breakfast, though we heard it was delicious.
The staff were super friendly, which was the only good part. The bedding and sheets smelled strongly of body odor, the TV was outdated and didn’t show information about what you were watching, and the fitness room equipment was broken. I wouldn’t recommend it or go back.
