The location was great for getting to the beach, but not much else was nearby. My parents can’t walk long distances like I can, so we had to use Uber or the trolley to get around. Misty Isles works if your plans are all about the beach. I was upset about what we paid given the condition of the sleeping setup. When we arrived, the sleeper sofa was filthy and broken, so we ended up on its very thin mattress on the floor. It wasn’t clean. Management was understanding and helpful: they replaced the furniture and bought us a new air mattress. Still, the owners are responsible for the furniture and sleeping accommodations, not management. We made the best of it, but it was way overpriced, and I think we should have been offered some kind of refund for the furniture and sleeping problems.

The location and view are hard to beat, with the beach very close and bars and restaurants within a good walk. The facility itself needs a lot of work, though. The indoor shower was barely 2 feet by 2 feet, the air conditioners need upgrading, and the sliding back door needs urgent replacement. I’d guess $5,000 to $8,000 of improvements could make this a nice place. It feels like the owners are treating it as a cash cow for now, though it could be much better with some effort. It also took a full month to get my deposit back. Five-star view, three-star facility.

The view from every room was beautiful, even from the shower, and the sand was about ten steps away. Check-in and checkout were easy. It was clean apart from a stained couch that wasn’t comfortable to sit on. We told them the shower hose was leaking, and they came right away and replaced it the next day. The kitchen appliances could use an update, but otherwise the place was well equipped.

We were very disappointed by the property's poor condition, which other guests have also mentioned. The photos and description seem carefully made to suggest beachfront lodging, and the hefty price reinforced that expectation. Instead, we were put in the unit farthest from the beach, outside the beachfront building. Reviews have raised deferred maintenance for years, yet management replies cheerfully that they’ll look into it. The couch was so nasty we had to cover it with our dog’s blanket to sit down. It was beyond substandard and shameful. We left two days early and won’t return here or to any TechTravel.com property.

The location is amazing, and the room was clean and had what we needed. It works for four people if you’re related, since the bathroom is in the bedroom. On our first full day, several men showed up to work in the room next door. They arrived at 9 am and were still there at 7 that evening when we went to dinner, drilling concrete and making horrible, loud noise. I emailed the office about it but never heard back. The workers returned the next day, too. Hope you have better luck if you stay at @Mistyisles.
