We came from out of state for memorial services and didn't arrive until almost 1 AM. The person who helped us check in by phone beforehand had been extremely kind, professional, and helpful. The young woman working the desk on the 1st was still there because the night worker was a no-call, no-show. She remembered us and helped us so much. I'm sorry we didn't get her name, but I hope management can identify her from the date and reward her. She deserves a promotion or at least a raise. Our room was clean, the towels were soft, and getting around was easy for me as a disabled guest. The area was pleasant for my service dog too. At the time of our visit, the ice machine was broken, and the only food available was from vending machines. We were told the location had been bought out and would be adding full breakfast, which would be a great improvement for the price. I hope the new owners also add pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffee machines, and coffee cups. For now, guests have to pay if they want those things. Please look up the young woman who checked us in on the 1st and recognize her.

There was a strong marijuana smell everywhere, in the elevator, hallway, and our room, throughout all three nights. The room itself was clean, and the full-size refrigerator and air freshener helped mask it. But there were very few basics: one small soap bar and four small bath towels, with no hand towels or washcloths. We had to buy soap for the shower. The front desk always seemed closed, there were no towel racks, and with no housekeeping we had to hang towels on a clothes hanger to dry. My first impression had been of a comfortable hotel with helpful staff, but that changed as soon as I left the lobby. I'd asked the check-in employee if there was a restroom I could use while waiting for my room, and was told there wasn't one, though there was a bathroom just outside the lobby door. I knew it was an extended-stay hotel, but learned many guests were apparently staying there at taxpayer expense. I expected guests to wear masks in public areas because the county had a high number of COVID cases, but didn't see anyone wearing one. I felt unsafe. There was a commotion in the parking lot one night, then a loud argument in the hall outside our room the next. On our last night, we returned after dark and found the back entrance closed, so the only way in was the main door with our card key. Although I plan to visit Redlands again soon, I won't stay at this poorly managed, overpriced hotel.

Great location and price, and the staff were okay. I liked that they have smoking rooms and allow pets. I was in a handicap Accessible room, but the bathroom floor was dusty with hair all over it. The shower faucet wasn't sealed, and when I pulled the little knob, the whole faucet came off, so I had to take a bath instead.

The rooms were clean, which is the only positive I can point to, and really the bare minimum. I understand no room service during COVID, but you have to pay for fresh linen and put it on yourself. There's a fridge, sink, microwave, and heating element, but using any of them costs extra. Who travels with plates or skillets? We just needed a bed for the night, it felt like. For a weeklong stay I had to buy everything I needed. There's little point in having a small kitchen if guests can't use it. I shouldn't have to pay extra for a coffee maker, skillet, clean linen, soap, or shampoo. Some businesses seem to use COVID as a reason to provide less. I'll stick with name-brand hotels on my next work trip. The place is extremely pet friendly, which some people may like. It seemed like everyone had a dog in their room. See “packages for sale against the wall” in the picture below.

The hotel was full, and there were lots of smokers and people playing loud music or working on cars in the parking lot. The crowd staying there didn't seem classy. I chose this place because I wanted a kitchen, then learned at check-in that it had no pots, pans, plates, or utensils. I'd never seen a hotel kitchen without those things, so I ended up buying what I needed. Hillary at reception was very helpful and made my stay better. The property is secured and close to the main shopping area in Redlands. Overall, it was good, and I might stay again.
