Redstone Cliffs Lodge

The bathrooms were nice, and everything was very, very clean. The bed was quite firm, though, and we couldn’t work out how to adjust the cabin temperature. The bigger issue was the booking. The reservation service made it sound as if we’d have two bedrooms or at least two beds, but we arrived to find one full-size bed. When we went straight to the front desk, nobody was there, and the whole place was dark and locked, so we couldn’t get another room or sort it out. I called two days later to share feedback and help prevent the same mix-up, but the woman on the phone kept interrupting and didn’t listen. She was very caustic. The stay itself was decent, but pay close attention to the room details when booking.

We spent a few evenings by the river, sitting in the swing or hammock, and our dog got a warm welcome from everyone on the property. The owners are right there and are really cool people. We enjoyed their suggestion to catch live music downtown. The rooms were quiet, clean, and had everything we needed, including comfortable beds and a big walk-in shower. Redstone is such a cute little town with plenty going on, and staying here made our time there even better. The pizza place next door was fabulous, and the general store’s ice cream was excellent. The store has everything you need, too. This is our new favorite spot. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it.

The price for a family of five was unbeatable, and the extra heaters kept both rooms warm during our fall visit. We stayed in unit 6, with two sliding glass doors opening directly onto the back yard and river. There was plenty of patio furniture for relaxing, and the hot tub looked clean and hot, though we didn’t use it. The unit was dated, but incredibly clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by the room. The photos shown when booking weren’t accurate, but the description was, including the number and type of beds and the kitchen. Nobody was in the office during our stay, but the key and clear instructions were left in the unit.

The river was only a few steps away, and we could walk everywhere in the tiny town we enjoyed so much. We grabbed pizza next door, wandered along the street a few times, and went to a concert in the park. Everything was an easy walk, and we felt safe and comfortable. We were there for two nights in early August. Just the two of us, but we booked suite #2 for its little kitchenette. It was the perfect size, really cute, and had a sweet ambiance. The kitchenette had what we needed, and everything felt clean. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here.
