Best Western Salbasgeon Inn & Suites Of Reedsport

I ended up at another hotel and had to pay again, while losing the money I paid here. I was very disappointed. I booked online and came to check in today. The property looked run-down outside and nothing like its online pictures, but I tried to keep an open mind in case the rooms were better. As soon as I entered mine, there was a strong musty smell, food crumbs and hair ties on the floor, cobwebs on the windowsills, and a very loud toilet that wouldn't flush. The bathroom walls had water damage, and both beds sagged in the middle. I went back to ask for a refund because I wasn't going to stay. They immediately said their policy required 24 hours' notice to cancel and refused to refund me. They offered another room, but by then I just wanted to find another hotel and declined. They kept repeating the policy and said they couldn't do anything. After they called the owner, she offered 10% back. The cancellation rule shouldn't apply to a room in such poor condition. They wouldn't take responsibility, and I felt they were trying to scam me. The place was falsely advertised online and unsatisfactory.

The pool and hot tub were cold and not working properly, which was a letdown since we had been looking forward to using them. Still, we had a pleasant stay at the Best Western in Reedsport. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and Lisa at reception was super friendly and helpful throughout. The convenient location made it easy to get around town. We'd consider coming back, especially if the pool and hot tub are working properly next time.

The rooms are clean and conveniently located, and the internet is decent. But breakfast on our latest stay left a lot to be desired. They were out of eggs both days, with no attempt to offer a substitute. I avoid high-carb breakfasts because they make me feel gross all day. The staff on 12/27 and 12/28 made me feel like a nuisance when I asked a few questions. We came at the same time last year and had a much better experience. Please don't let this place keep going downhill.

There's a hot breakfast and lots of parking at this clean Best Western. Our mattress sagged in the middle and could probably use replacing. The room had a fridge and microwave. It's a handy spot on the coast for dune buggy rides and viewing sea stacks in the surf.
