The food is good as usual and the place is great with reasonable prices, but service could be better. The hostess set down a menu and walked away, and because I have low-light vision, we had to move to another table. The keno lady was slow and didn’t come around, so I had to chase her down. There may have been only one. Coffee is great, but I waited over 20 minutes for a refill until I flagged someone down. She brought a fresh hot cup.
The bathrooms were nice, and we all had fun. My one-year-old was told there was an arcade upstairs, but it was more like 12 games tops. Still, it had some of his favorite claw machines, and he won his first prize all by himself. One machine got stuck, and it was a little hard to get help because Circus Circus doesn’t own the arcade games, but someone did eventually come and we left with prizes. We could see people gambling on the second floor from the arcade. My family also had a great time with the casino promotions. On the first day they earned enough points for $40 in free play, and one family member hit their first jackpot. The next day, they could exchange points for sealed bottles of alcohol to take home. They were about 8 points short, but staff kindly let them have a bottle anyway.
The prime rib and lobster tail combo was tasty and affordable, and the staff serving it were engaged. They’re doing their best at this little casino in the best little town. The dinner area could use updated lighting and paint for 2026, but the retro look is always in fashion. Good job, everyone.
You don’t need to dress up or put on makeup here. It’s a come-as-you-are place where everyone seems equally welcome. It’s one of Reno’s oldest and more run-down casinos, nowhere near as high-class as GSR or Atlantis, and the security leaves a lot to be desired. Top Deck serves good old American food at decent prices. The penny slots are handy if you’re broke but still want to gamble.
Top Check is an iconic spot for a meal. The menu is extensive and affordable, the food smells incredible, and the service seems good. The whole decor and atmosphere brought on a wave of nostalgia, like stepping back in time in a good way. It looked clean, too. I’d give it 10 out of 10 for cleanliness, service, and decor and atmosphere, and 9 out of 10 for game selection.
