Hilton Garden Inn Reno

After a ten-hour drive across the western US, with another eleven hours on the road the next day, we needed a quiet, restful night. The room was roomy, clean, and very quiet, and our two small dogs could relax and play there. It’s dog-friendly, with easy access to green spaces. We ate at the hotel restaurant, where dinner was delicious and affordable. The staff were spectacular, friendly, and courteous.

Never again. The front desk doesn’t answer, and the hot tub was out of commission. Breakfast costs extra, and it’s ridiculously expensive: $30 for eggs and pancakes. We left for the day and came back to find the room hadn’t been serviced as you’d expect at a decent hotel.

The on-site restaurant had a good breakfast, and the location was convenient. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with everything I needed for a good night’s sleep. Holiday Inn Reno was a reliable, comfortable stay, and I’d come back.

The morning breakfast staff were nice, attentive, and helpful, and the location was exactly where I needed it. The Hilton app was easy to use, and having a digital key made getting to my room quick and convenient. The room and service let me down, though. There were no towels, so I had to call the front desk and ask someone to bring some. The TV only worked on the coaxial source, some channels didn’t work, and there was no in-room programming like most hotels have. The front desk apologized and put in a work order, but no one came to look at it. On day two, housekeeping was cleaning nearby rooms, so I hoped they’d bring more towels and take the small amount of trash from my bins, but they didn’t. That was disappointing.
