Hyatt Place Reno Tahoe Airport

The room was clean and roomy, and breakfast had several good vegan choices: oatmeal, toast, bagels, fruit, and oat milk for cereal. I used credit card points for this stay, and found the hotel a lot nicer than places I usually book when paying myself. I did miss having a microwave in the room. The $12 nightly parking charge also seemed silly.

I've stayed in hotels around 100 nights a year and have never had such a strange experience. At check-in, they said I could have water, then told me they were out, so the offer felt fictitious. Earlier, although several rooms like the one I'd booked were available, the person ahead of me was offered a choice and I wasn't. It was 2:30, half an hour before check-in, and because I'm new to Hyatt with low loyalty status, I was asked to pay $25 to check in early. The website listed parking as an amenity without mentioning a fee. Stay next door at Aloft, far better.

Big, modern rooms with a warm feel, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The service was great too. They took care of everything I needed 🔥😎

The room was pretty average, and the pool area looked as if it was being renovated the whole time, leaving the place feeling messy. They also charged $12 for parking, which didn't feel reasonable for this experience. We checked in on Christmas night. Breakfast wasn't included in our room, but the front desk specifically said they'd add one free breakfast. We ate the next morning, then found we'd been charged anyway. When we called, the explanation was that we weren't Globalist members and therefore didn't get free breakfast. That didn't make sense after what we'd been told at check-in, and the whole thing felt dishonest and misleading. Poor management, confusing communication, and charges we weren't expecting. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
