Motel 6 Reno, NV - Livestock Events Center

I gave the place another try this year after an interesting stay about a year ago when I came to see family. It looks like they've cleaned things up and there's new management. Kathleen was so friendly and welcoming, and made the place feel inviting again. The staff were helpful and nice, and the room was cleaner than I expected. Prices are fair and the rooms are exceptional. I'd definitely recommend it over anywhere else in Reno for a night, and I'll be back next year.

The woman at the front desk was a hero while I was there, so she gets an extra two stars. The place itself was rough. I'm sure my room hadn't been cleaned, and the price was higher than it should've been. The furniture was updated, but the appliances looked like they'd fallen off an 18 wheeler and then been run over by a dump truck. The shower felt like an absurd cost-cutting job, and I may have heard a crime in the next room.

The staff who were there were very polite and apologized, but there was nobody available to help fix the problems. When I called, the person was too busy and they were understaffed. My room's TV didn't work, and the kids' room was fine except its fridge didn't work. We only needed one fridge, but having no TV made for a very boring night in. The beds had spring mattresses and weren't comfortable, though the huge pillows helped. The air conditioning and heat worked great. The hotel was clean, had a microwave, and the amenities were nice and clean. It was quiet and peaceful, and the sunset from my room was gorgeous. I had a good stay overall, and the staff were nice.

This Motel 6 has improved a lot since I stayed here a couple of years ago. Jessica, the Manager, has put a ton of time and energy into turning the property around, and it's made a real difference. The hotel is budget friendly and feels very safe. The rooms are clean, and it's fairly quiet considering it's beside the off-ramp. Ali greeted me in the lobby with a big, warm smile. She was upbeat, personable, and professional. Jessica has a wonderful front desk team, and the staff are exceptional.
