I was fairly happy with my stay until checkout, when I tried to pick up a pair of earrings someone had left in their room. I was staying in town longer and wanted to get them for her. Finding security was nearly impossible. An employee confidently sent me to the second floor, but eventually someone who knew where it was walked me to the first-floor office. I had to call from a phone there, and they said someone would come right over. After 15-20 minutes, I called again and was told they were still looking for the item. A guard finally arrived at a snail's pace with the earrings, but said he could only release them if I had a physical ID. I had a photo of it on my phone. He checked with someone above him, but they wouldn't make an exception. My ID was back in my room, so I walked all the way there and back. When I returned, the guard had disappeared. I tried to stay calm, and he came back about five minutes later. Then he started handing over the earrings and realized someone else was supposed to collect them. She was already on her flight, as was the person who owned them. The intended pickup person has the same last name as me, which is a long story. They could have told me that before I made the trip back to my room. By then, 30-40 minutes had gone by. I knew the names of everyone involved and what the item was, and they had my physical ID, but still wouldn't give it to me. I had no choice but to let it go. With people able to gamble on their phones almost anywhere now, treating a customer this way seems like bad business. I won't be coming back.

After our flight was canceled, we found a room at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised by the resort. The room was clean and reasonably priced, and the airport shuttle made getting there easy. Everything on the property was great. The only downside was that the surrounding area wasn't the best.

We came for a conference and had an excellent stay. Bad weather meant we needed to add two days, and the staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable. Aditi at the front desk took a personal interest in helping us plan those extra days. She wrote down places to visit and restaurants that suited our taste. That kind of service during a difficult time says a lot about their hospitality. Full marks to Peppermill.

I was at the Peppermill for work, close to the Convention Center. The room was spacious and clean when I checked in, and there were two bottles of water. Signs on the doors say the rooms are being renovated. Mine hadn't been updated yet, though a colleague had one that looked more modern. They still provide individual travel-size toiletries instead of bulk bottles. I liked having instant hot water in the shower. There are two shower heads, but the pressure was a little weak, so crossing the streams was the best way to rinse my hair. The bed was very comfortable, though I prefer softer pillows. I also had stayover service on a couple of days, and the attendant did a good job. I'd stay here again if I were in the area, and would like to try one of the newer rooms.
