Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa

We enjoyed our first stay and would definitely come back. Our room had a river view, and the place was clean and pet friendly. Nico at the front desk cheerfully handled our room modification request at check-in and even asked if we needed extra water or anything else. The valet team greeted us warmly, too. There’s an arcade on the first floor, the pool is covered, and the hot tub is open. The auto museum and patagonia outlet are close enough to walk to.

We booked two rooms for my wife’s birthday and another couple, but they looked nothing like the pictures. The rooms were hideous, with stains and no furniture, more like dungeons. The suite was the worst I’ve seen. Staff apologized but didn’t do anything to fix it, so we took lower costing rooms without a refund. I’ve stayed in hotels, motels, and hostels all over the world and never seen a place priced this high that resembled a model castle. I wouldn’t recommend it or go back.

The valet guys are great, always smiling and ready to help. JAEDEN was especially sweet and helpful. He remembered small details about my day and asked about them the next time he saw me. In the morning he even left my car running so it would be warm for me. I appreciate that kind of attention to little things. Keep up the great work!

NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST, whatever your Bonvoy level. At check-in my Ambassador Elite status, usually 75 to 100 nights/year at Marriott, got me 1000 points. A gracious employee did manage to get my wife and me a $10 voucher for breakfast. Friendly staff and a nice place, but Marriott properties continue to come up short, at least in the US. I recommend finding a Hilton to see what rewards you’ll get.
