Clarion Inn Renton - Seattle

Verna handled check-in with real professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency, and the staff helped make the stay impressive. We had spacious accommodations for the price, a hot breakfast included, and a peaceful setting near Highway 167. The location initially gave me pause, but grocery stores like Fred Meyer, Southcenter Mall, and Seattle were all about 5-15 minutes away. We expect to come back.

The first room smelled, and its parquet floor was loose and lifting in several spots, enough that I caught my foot on it. We asked to move and got a carpeted room on the third floor. That room had a peeling tub and a musty smell, along with the odor of smoke in a nonsmoking area. Opening the window helped a little. The hallway and elevator reeked of pot smoke. The whole stay was frustrating and unpleasant.

The building feels old, but the workers make up for it by staying on top of cleaning and maintenance. Our room was neat and really clean, and the front desk people were kind and understanding. They were especially patient with our third-party booking, which is why I'm giving them such a great review. Thanks for having us, Clarion!

Verna made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. She was professional and warm, answered my questions patiently, offered useful suggestions, and checked whether I needed anything. Her kindness and attention to detail made the visit feel more like being looked after by a friend than staying at a hotel. I had a wonderful time at the Clarion Hotel and would gladly return. Verna is a real asset to the team, and I'll tell my friends in alaska to come meet her at the Clarion.
