Motel 6 Rexburg, ID

The location near Yellowstone National Park and the low price were appealing, but the stay was uncomfortable. There’s no elevator, so we had to haul our bags up to the second floor. Our room was small with few amenities, which was understandable, but the sink drain was clogged and water collected in it. The shower was fine, even though there wasn’t a bathtub. At night, the poor soundproofing meant we could hear a guy belching loudly in the hallway. I guess this is what to expect at a Motel 6. Should’ve picked somewhere nicer, lesson learned :)

Just right for an overnight stop. The room and sheets were clean. The heating and cooling unit was a bit noisy, but I could live with it.

The staff were great, and the coffee was good. They let me check in early and put me in the room I preferred. My dog was welcome, and there was no pet deposit.

We didn’t finally get into a room until about 2:30 am, even though we checked in around 1 am. The first room had beds that had been remade despite someone obviously sleeping in them, and water was leaking everywhere from the mini fridge. We called the front desk and agreed to move. The next room’s door wouldn’t unlock after several tries, so we kept walking back to the desk. Staff then said some locks don’t work properly and moved us again. We’d arranged a noon checkout, but at 10:30 am a housekeeper repeatedly tried to open our door without knocking or saying who they were, despite the manual lock being on. This was the worst hotel or motel stay I’ve had. Filthy, overpriced, and the service was awful.
