Rhinebeck was lovely for antiques and little shops, and we had a great dinner at the Tavern. Our winter escape at America's oldest Inn was relaxing and cozy. The property's history is striking as soon as you arrive. I booked by phone, and Robert was incredibly helpful in finding two pet friendly rooms. We chose the courtyard room with a King bed and fireplace, and it was spacious and comfortable. We'd love to come back soon.

We hosted a wedding for more than 50 people across the inn and the Delamater inn. The greenhouse made a beautiful setting for the event, and the attached ballroom has a huge dance floor. The fireplaced lobby and other gathering spots were central and convenient. Staff were kind and attentive, and everything was clean and comfortable. The inn has so much history and is beautiful, and the tavern serves great food. Rooms were bright and comfy, though they don't have all the amenities of a modern hotel: no soundproofing, robes, in-room safes, or mini-fridges.

The continental breakfast each morning was basic, but there was a good selection. I spent two nights in the Gables, in a cute and cozy second-floor room. Traveling alone, I felt safe walking around the area even at night. I also had salmon for dinner at the Tavern, where Mike was very friendly and offered helpful local tips. I'm so glad I got to stay in such a gorgeous place, and I love my memories from Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn!

I love old historic charm, so I'd give this place another try if I'm in the area. We had a family dinner for 30 in a private room, which felt cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly. The food was a mixed bag: portions were mediocre, and the passed hors d'oeuvres seemed to come from a box. The Caesar salad was fair, while the roasted chicken had good flavor and the vegetables were fresh. Desserts were fine, but my cappuccino was lukewarm.

Rhinebeck has lovely historic buildings, specialty shops, and places to eat, so it's nice that Beekman Arms is still operating after two and a half centuries of change. I haven't stayed overnight, so I can only guess that would be pleasant. I've had several good lunches and dinners here, though. The inn's colonial-era rooms and lounges feel intimate and friendly, with little moments of connection that are rare these days. Life seems to slow down here. Even the front door, a little older than the American Revolution, hints at the determined spirit of roughly 250 years ago.
