Baymont by Wyndham Bloomington MSP Airport

This place was extremely basic, down to not providing lotion or a makeup wipe, and it felt like they pinched every penny. There’s no coffee maker in the suites, just cups, and breakfast is grab-and-go with no proper protein, so it shouldn’t be called a buffet. No welcome bag either. Diamond members don’t get a complimentary suite upgrade. I was quoted $25, even though the app showed a $5 upgrade. Early check-in was also quoted at $25, which we reluctantly agreed to. The hotel is advertised as an airport hotel but has no shuttle, though the Mall location does. The 3.4-star rating seems way too high to me, more like 1-2. At check-in, he said he could give me a discount, so I only paid one of the two fees for early check-in and the suite upgrade. It cost the same as a much better, more accurately rated Wyndham down the road. This feels like a Scam-Wyndham. If I’d known the quality was so low, I would’ve picked the mall location.

Service was excellent, and the bed was comfortable for a reasonable price. The room was bare-bones, with no microwave, fridge, or armchair. The pool was nice, but breakfast and the fitness center were poor. The AC unit was noisy.

The hotel’s a bit dated, but it was clean and had everything we needed. We had a reservation mix-up that was sorted out without any trouble. I gave it five stars for how friendly and helpful everyone was.

We’ve stayed here a few times over the last several years and will come back. It’s consistently clean, the staff are friendly, and the location is hard to beat for convenience to the airport.
