Quality Inn Richland - Jackson South

We travel with our little dog, and the $25 per pet fee was reasonable. The room had everything working perfectly, from the small fridge and microwave to the iron and ironing board. The bed was very comfortable, with crisp, clean linens, and the bathroom was super clean, with a deep tub and shower and plenty of hot water. It was clean and quiet, with all the basic amenities. For half the price of motels down the street, what more do you need? Quality Inn Richland, MS is a five-star example of what a budget motel should be. We’ll choose Quality Inns when we can and hope the others are just as nice.

The staff were so nice and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms were clean, and they brought fresh towels every day. Even the ice machine worked without a problem. The free breakfast and coffee are worth trying, a nice way to get the day started. It was a comfortable, easy stay.

The extra $50 charge tipped this stay against the place, and we also got repeated wake-up calls we hadn’t asked for, starting at 9 a.m. We only planned to be there a couple of hours, so our expectations were low. The outside of the building and reception area have been updated, but everything else is old and dirty, and the outdoor trash cans were overflowing. The man who was rude and hit us with random charges when we were exhausted and had booked a nonrefundable room was also the guy we saw pushing a shopping cart and doing maid service. I usually give places like this a break, but he was so rude that people should know. Fair warning.

The smell was awful, and the sheets weren’t clean. Nothing seemed to be in good condition. This was the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in, and we had a terrible experience. They need to keep it clean and do something to make the room and beds smell better.
