Room 4 was clean and in a good location, and for the price I’d stay again, but the HVAC needs attention. There’s no bathroom fan, so the shower steam makes things worse, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The back window wouldn’t stay open, while the front one was screwed shut. Later that night, with it cooler outside than inside, I had to stand by our open room door for ventilation while my wife and kids tried to sleep. I was frustrated, got bitten by mosquitoes, and wondered whether it was even legal to have the windows screwed shut. Maybe the Manteo fire chief should check the place. I hate leaving a negative review, but people should know about the broken HVAC. By morning it was cooler outside and tolerable inside. I don’t regret staying, and I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN, but I’m bringing my own air conditioner.

Dill was really nice and gave us great suggestions for places to visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a vintage feel that was my favorite part. The antique furniture and decor were stunning. It’s in a prime spot, close enough to walk to shops and restaurants and right off the interstate. Would highly recommend!

The rooms were cute, clean, and didn’t have that stale hotel smell. They were furnished with antiques, beds included, but the beds were awful. I woke up at 3, 4:30, 6, and 8 with a terrible backache, so I didn’t get a good night’s sleep. We were only there for a quick stop for a wedding, but I wouldn’t stay again. They kept reminding us checkout was at 11 whenever they saw us, which made it feel like they were eager for us to leave. It’s okay if you just need somewhere to sleep overnight, but it wasn’t worth the price.

I like the cozy, grandma’s guest bedroom feeling, complete with mismatched furniture and an antique sewing machine. The decor isn’t modern, and this small family run place isn’t for anyone expecting 24 hour services. When an emergency meant we needed an extra night, the owner kindly gave us a discount. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.
