WoodSpring Suites Tri-Cities - Richland

My husband stayed here for two weeks for work and brought his laptop and monitor. After checking out, he realized he’d left the monitor behind and called the hotel. They said the person responsible for that room wasn’t there, so we couldn’t come back to get it. The next day he went there in person, and the receptionist said the room cleaner had already thrown it into the dump truck. They also said they weren’t responsible. It feels like they don’t want to return your belongings after all. They’re not responsible for their service.

The hotel seemed like it should’ve been a great deal: it’s fairly new, the rooms are nice, there are kitchens, and the price was good. But both nights, from 10:05 until after midnight, the people upstairs made so much noise it felt like a herd of elephants, shaking the whole building for hours. The front desk closes at 10 p.m., so there was nobody to complain to and nothing we could do but put up with it. My friend is deaf, but it kept him awake too. You could feel the vibrations even without hearing them. We were in room 212 on 9/27 and 9/28, and left on 9/29. Absolutely ridiculous.

We booked two rooms for the night, one under my friend’s name and one under my husband’s. At check-in they said there were no rooms under our names, but two under our friend’s, and asked for his ID and $150. We went back with him, the money, and his ID, only to be told we couldn’t stay. Each time we came back, they wanted something else. We’d chosen to pay at the desk, but later saw $150 taken from my husband’s bank account. When I called today to ask about it, the woman said we’d still be charged if we didn’t show up. We did show up, several times. Highly recommend against this place; getting in felt like a circus trick. There were two charges, $80 and $69, even though the rooms cost more than that, and the website said there was no cancellation fee. I can understand the $80 being a hold, but why haven’t we got it back? I wanted to know what the charges were for and why they’d been taken, but all I got was, “I don’t know.”

The full kitchen was handy for making small meals and saving money on eating out. I was also surprised by how clean everything was, from the room to the grounds. My room may have been one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. BRAVO housekeeping!!!
