Commonwealth Park Suites Hotel

The location is really good and the staff were great, but the room was very outdated. Our first room smelled strongly of chlorox, so they kindly moved us. The replacement was basically an apartment, with a kitchen area, huge sitting space, bathroom, and bedroom. The best thing was the bathtub and hot water. This hotel needs updating.

Eric, our valet, made a great impression during our one-year anniversary stay at The Commonwealth. He was kind, genuine, and welcoming every time we saw him, and really set the tone for the visit. At the hotel bar, Shane was friendly and attentive, making it an easy, relaxing place to celebrate. The staff took great care of us, and we'd happily stay again.

The Capitol grounds view was lovely, though the dirty windows made it hard to see. Our suite was roomy but worn and dated, with damaged furniture, walls, and bathroom fixtures. It needed a deep clean and maintenance. Since the bedroom has no air conditioning, getting comfortable was difficult. We had to leave its door open and keep the living area AC as low as possible. The location is great, but the property felt poorly maintained and overpriced. Staff were somewhat pleasant, though not especially welcoming or helpful. I'd stay elsewhere.

Good day. Last week, my assistant booked me a room at The Commonwealth. We didn't know about the parking area's height limit, so we had to cancel within 20 minutes of making the reservation, at 8:30 on a Tuesday night. Management refused to refund any of the cost, fully or partially. That felt like putting profit ahead of hospitality, with no regard for the golden rule. Potential customers should know that this company treats you like a number. If you have a shred of morality, avoid doing business here. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
