The room smelled strongly of smoke, and pretty much everything was dirty or broken. While I was packing to leave, two roaches crawled out of my shoe and onto my foot. Then I opened the nightstand and found six more. I showed a video of them to the woman at the desk, but she just rolled her eyes and said I shouldn't have booked online. She was rude, and claimed they'd had no time to clean because I checked in early. She also said they had a bed bug and roach problem, which made that explanation especially odd. The place was disgusting and run down. Do not come here.

I never raised my voice, but the way this was handled was unbelievable. I'm moving from VA Beach to Richmond, and this was easily the worst stay I've had. When I realized there were bed bugs in our room, I reported it and explained I hadn't unpacked because I thought something was biting us. The woman complained that we had too much stuff and didn't want to move us, so on Sunday night we booked the room next door and shifted our things there. As we were finishing and about to sweep, my girls went back for a box they'd left and caught the housekeeper going through our things. I later learned she had taken pictures of the rooms before we'd finished moving, and that the woman blocked my reservation at the other hotel because I'd reported the bed bugs. The hotel still has bed bugs. Just fix the problem.

The front desk interaction added to an already stressful stay. An older woman there was dismissive and rude, and treated even simple questions as a nuisance. Housekeeping staff seemed to be trying, but the condition of the room pointed to deeper problems: roaches everywhere, signs of bed bugs, itchy bed covers, and stained curtains. It felt unsanitary and unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and I'll be reporting these conditions to the appropriate health authorities.

The sink had no running water, which is a big no, and the rooms seemed to get only spot cleaned. There was still trash on the floor after cleaning, and the bathroom hadn't been swept or mopped. They just mop enough to make the place smell clean. Linens and bedding had cigarette burns even though this is supposed to be smoke free. I saw a roach crawling on the front desk attendant while I was inspecting the room I would have stayed in, and he flicked it off into the room. The place is infested with roaches and bed bugs. The little old lady at the desk was quite rude too. I'll be calling the Health Department.
