Echo Suites Richmond West - Extended Stay Wyndham

I've been here since August 1st, and Ty has been a big help from day one. Even with the elevator out of order, she helped us manage all our bags. Whenever I run into her, she checks in and asks what she can do to make our stay better. She's a real breath of fresh air and a great asset to Echo Suite.

The location is good and the people are nice, but this is a bare-bones stay. The hotel is fairly new and looks nice, yet there's not much in the room beyond a bed and TV. There's a kitchenette, but no pots or...

I stayed for a week, then during my second week they told me to leave because I had put bagged trash in the hallway corner outside my door. It wasn't in anyone's way, and I'd seen other guests leave trash by their doors too. They said they'd warned me before, which wasn't true, and accused me of smoking in the room. I've never smoked. I felt they were using those claims to force me out, and they called the police. I left because I no longer felt safe there and worried they might accuse me of something else or tamper with my room. They kept the money for the remaining reservation days, and the booking still shows me checked in. I've contacted Wyndham hotels to ask what can be done. In over 20 years of work travel and stays around the country, I've never had a situation like this, and customers shouldn't be treated this way. The staff were rude, in my experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The elevator had also been broken for more than two weeks, as far as I knew, and I don't know whether it was fixed. There were no trash cans by the elevators; the only bins were outside and full to the top. They also didn't clean the room for more than 10 days, which is why I didn't think leaving the trash out was wrong.

The property itself is quite nice and has potential, but I won't book again under the current management. I only stayed one night, and the staff seemed more focused on gossiping and socializing than helping guests. They came across as dismissive and sometimes rude, which made me uncomfortable. Management also seemed indifferent, and the customer service was disappointing.
