Econo Lodge Richmond-North Chesterfield

The room was filthy, with mold throughout, and the A/C smelled like years of buildup. The air coming out of it reminded me of laundry left for two months. I was here on a work stay that was paid for, but housekeeping wasn't included. Getting my own towels and supplies was fine, and they might provide room service if you ask. After a week, I asked them to change the bedding. They came, but only did about a quarter of the job, and insulted me in another language while they worked. I had a translator app open and could hear what they were saying. If you don't have to stay here, don't.

The room looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time, and the area felt shady, with the state probation and parole office next door. The front desk clerk told me the rate was $75 for one night, but my card was charged $138. Don't waste your time or money here.

The room was filthy from the start: Q-tips on the floor when I checked in, used toilet paper left behind, a disgusting bathroom, and a dirty shower curtain. The shower head was rusty and moldy, the towels and washcloths were stained, and the mattress, sheets, and blankets were dirty. I was glad I'd brought a sleeping bag. They don't clean during your stay, and getting fresh towels is like pulling teeth. Trash bags left outside the room attract bugs and other unwanted animals. Worst of all, staff seem to think it's fine to enter your room anytime without knocking. Front desk customer service was rude, with no accountability. I'd give this place negative stars if I could.

The front desk made check-in easy, they were so friendly and helpful. We booked a room with a red jacuzzi, and it worked perfectly, which gave our stay a romantic feel. Really nice for a couple wanting some time to relax together. We had a fantastic stay and I'd recommend this motel.
