I chose The Jefferson Hotel for its history and elegance, and because it might be haunted. I brought equipment that allegedly detects and communicates with spirits, but unfortunately had no supernatural experience. I was disappointed not to have a paranormal encounter, though I loved staying somewhere with both history and elegance. The building inspired awe when I arrived, and it was fascinating to stay in such a historic hotel. The staff were friendly, everything was clean, and the amenities in the hotel and room were good. My room had a large TV, mini fridge, several seating areas, plus a spacious closet and bathroom. I also enjoyed visiting the two restaurants and gift shop. My alligator friend Lily enjoyed the stay too.

I celebrated my birthday at The Jefferson in Richmond, and the attentive, warm staff made me feel cared for from the moment we arrived. They made the whole occasion feel special, beyond ordinary hotel service. The hotel is stunning, with architecture and an atmosphere that feel timeless and royal. Our suite was beautiful and comfortable, and even a short visit felt like a luxury escape. The Jefferson turned my birthday into a memory I'll always cherish. I'd recommend it for a meaningful celebration or an extraordinary hotel stay.

The place is beautiful and well located, with plenty of things within walking distance and easy access from the interstate. The rooms are top notch and have all the amenities. The food is great if you're hungry, and the bar service is second to none if you want a drink. If you're after an upscale stay in Richmond, I highly recommend it.

We picked The Jefferson for a quick night because it was an easy walk to our concert at the Altria Theatre, and now we're already looking forward to coming back for longer. Perly’s is nearby too, about a 10 minute walk, and brunch there is worth it. The hotel balances its historic look with modern comforts so well. Service was outstanding, and we loved the evening turndown, chocolates on a quote card, and the note cards printed with local architecture. Our room had everything we needed, from the dreamy soaker tub and regularly refreshed towels to the Nespresso for that first morning cup. Such a lovely stay.

The Christmas decorations made this beautiful historic hotel feel even more charming, and the whole place looked classy. We first visited to see the decorations, then came back for the champagne brunch before Christmas. The wait staff were amazing, and the chefs at the carving and dessert stations were exceptional. The prime rib was cooked just right, the shrimp was large and fresh, and there were oysters on the half shell along with lots of other brunch options. Come dressed up and ready for a five star meal. This is going to be a new family tradition for us.
