Hyatt Place Jackson/ Ridgeland

The bed was comfortable, and the hotel itself looks lovely when you arrive. The rooms were nice too, but I was surprised there weren’t any microwaves. Breakfast was a letdown. I asked the front desk for a towel and was told they’d run out after breakfast, though one would be brought up. It finally arrived at 11, just before noon checkout. A warm shower after that cold breakfast would’ve been nice, but oh well.

Ms. Felicia made me feel so welcome, and I really appreciated that. The staff were amazing and my room was clean. Even the entrance smelled lovely, with fruit infused water waiting on the table. I had a wonderful time. God Bless You All!

The manager never called me back, and I was left wondering if my request had even been passed along. I was told no manager was available when I asked to speak with someone on duty. I’m taking this to Hyatt corporate because the negative reviews at this location are hurting the brand, and I hope management addresses it so other guests don’t go through this. I’ve been a loyal Hyatt member, so my family’s experience at the Hyatt Place Jackson/Ridgeland was especially disappointing. Chloee at the front desk treated my daughter rudely when she went to make a small purchase. She seemed more interested in chatting with a young man than helping guests. When my daughter paid, Chloee said she had no change and kept the remaining money without explaining it or trying to sort it out. I went downstairs calmly to ask for a refund, since keeping a guest’s money without offering change or another solution wasn’t appropriate. I got the same disrespectful treatment, and the conversation only became more frustrating. This was nowhere near the hospitality I expect from Hyatt. The front desk should be professional, attentive, and respectful, and that was entirely missing in this interaction with Chloee.

Corey A. finally looked up my account on checkout morning, spotted the issue, and fixed it in about five minutes. It was simple, and no manager was needed. Without him, I doubt the charges would have been removed. Earlier, I’d been told a manager had to handle it and would contact me, but nobody did. I called several times and got excuses about why the manager couldn’t talk. One woman told me, “I just got here what do you expect me to do about it.” I’d booked through a third party for a conference, and the hotel had already been paid through them, but I was charged again on my credit card. Another conference attendee had something similar happen. The rooms were decent, but the whole mess overshadowed and ruined my trip. I won’t stay here again.
