The kitchen workers and housekeepers are friendly and accommodating, and management is gracious, though they apologize for inconsistent service. These people do the best they can to keep the place going, and they aren’t to blame for its run down condition. Do you think they tell Marriott or the franchise owner everything is fine? They do their jobs well with what they’re given. Onyx LLC or Marriott should answer for the musty carpets and the constant air freshener in the hallways. Maybe the central heating and air is worn out, or the laundry hasn’t been updated since the place was built. The suites need remodeling, and maybe the kitchen needs help, which could explain the cold food and fruit that wasn’t fresh. Imagine how good a stay could be with newer equipment, given how hard the staff try. The neglected condition seems like a decision by upper management, the people who sign the checks, not the workers who receive them. If you have nothing nice to say, call corporate or say nothing and don’t stay there again.

My family was displaced by the ice storm, and the general manager helped us out. We have nothing but good things to say about the hotel and chain. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is great, and the staff are so friendly. Everything was great!

I wouldn’t recommend this place under any circumstances. The first room I was assigned was not ready, and its door was propped open by the lock. I went back to the desk and asked for another one. That room was filthy and worn out. The stove didn’t work, paint was peeling from the walls and cabinets, bulbs were burnt out, and the carpet was dirty. There were live cockroaches too, though I didn’t see them until the middle of the night, when it was too late to leave. With all due respect, this place is a complete dump.

We were in a side building, which was quiet and a bit secluded. The property is somewhat worn, though. Our room was unlocked and propped open when we got there, which seemed weird. Still, it wasn’t a bad stay, and I slept through it.
