Holiday Inn Express Ringgold by IHG

The staff were wonderful and pleasant, but this hotel really needs updating. We were traveling back from Florida, and I’m a Holiday Inn member. Breakfast was strange: there were no condiments, the food still had Suran wrap on it, and when we asked for condiments, she only had two jam packets. That definitely wasn’t the usual.

The pool is heated and always clean, and the rest of the room is consistently clean too. The staff are friendly. But the bathrooms don’t ventilate well, and there’s mold on the walls and behind the shower soap dispenser. I’ve stayed twice in the past year, and both times they were out of hot chocolate.

The breakfast was the usual mediocre hotel fare, though adequate since it was free. The garbage cans were overflowing, and there weren’t enough chairs for everyone. Two tables had no chairs, and people were trying to balance their plates while sitting on a couch. Not cool! After breakfast, we found a large bug on our room wall. We thought it was a roach, but when we showed the clerk a photo, she said, “Oh, that’s no roach, it’s a stink bug.” Then she started making excuses for why it was in the room, which didn’t sit well after paying $163. There shouldn’t be bugs, especially one classified as venomous. We stayed one night. The clerk was friendly and welcoming. The room was adequate, with a very tight but clean bathroom, good water pressure, and towels that were soft enough. The AC needed work because we couldn’t adjust the temperature. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows were awesome.

We booked this place while returning home, and it was one of the cleaner IHG rooms we’ve stayed in. The staff were wonderful, and we didn’t see any bugs. It’s close to food and the Ringold shopping area. The facility and town are beautiful. We’d visit again.
