Cobblestone Suites - Ripon

The mattresses could use an upgrade, which is why I’m giving it four stars. The rest was great. The lobby is a big open space with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My clean room had plenty of towels and washcloths. It was 16 degrees outside when I visited, and they already had the heat on. The smell was decent, too. A great place to stay in Ripon.

Everything was clean and working, and the front desk was friendly. In winter, it seemed to be mostly contractors and work crews. Pickup trucks rolled in after dinner, but the hotel stayed quiet. I went down for breakfast later than most and had the place to myself. I imagine there are college visitors in summer, too. I’d return.

Good breakfast choices, a fun pool, and a clean, roomy room at a good price. I’ll be back, thanks!

The only real snag was the key cards. They stopped working after our first night, and two attempts to reprogram them didn’t help. The front desk attendant had to let us in with her master key. She apologized and said other guests were dealing with the same thing. Otherwise, we enjoyed our two nights: the room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and spacious, and breakfast was good both mornings. Without the key issue, it would’ve been five stars.
