Budget Inn of Riverside

The room I got was clean, tidy, and completely habitable. This is an older motel with humble, basic accommodations, but the owner and management show a lot of kindness, respect, and understanding. The owner works hard every day to keep things up, maintain standards and safety, and accommodate people without discrimination. I was treated kindly and respectfully, and I'm grateful for the service. Management shows you the room before taking payment, so I had no overcharges or unlawful transactions and no disrespectful interactions. From my experience, the owner is upfront and honest. My room had working, strong AC and heat, dark curtains, no unpleasant smells, a simple bed and bedding, a built-in desk and chair, a dining table and chair, and a tub with the shower. The floors, bathroom, counters, and room were clean. All lights and covered electrical outlets worked. There was good closet space with hangers, plus a microwave and mini fridge in every room. The rooms are small, though two separate larger rooms are available for bigger parties at an extra cost. Paying guests can't do laundry here, but there's a laundromat an easy walk across the street. The drink and snack vending machines were stocked and working, and there was ample guest-only parking. Stores, fast food, restaurants, town centers, grocery markets, and Downtown were also within easy walking distance. They accept cash or cards, and ID is required. Some people have complained about communication with management. The gentleman asks guests to text at night because he's on the grounds during the day and goes home locally in the evening. He's available to communicate and address guests' needs with respect and kindness. The owner also shows rooms before payment, which was reassuring in my experience. The Riverside County area has a roach and bed bug problem, especially around Downtown Riverside City, and establishments have to deal with it. A pest sighting isn't necessarily proof that an owner or business has neglected things. Management sprays and cleans often and updates rooms, and does what it can to keep up health and safety standards in a difficult local situation. Please have reasonable expectations and treat each other with respect. The owner puts a lot of daily effort into keeping the place up and providing rooms. Be kind and respectful, and I experienced kindness and respect in return. Namaste.

It's comfortable, though nothing fancy. The two-story place has rooms that aren't too small, and parking is adequate, neither cramped nor excessive. I've seen people stay for quite a while, so it seems it can work for longer visits too.

Danny was super nice and friendly. He showed us a few available rooms and made sure everything was up to par. He gave my partner and me a good rate even though it was a festival weekend. The room was clean, didn't smell of smoke, and I didn't see any bugs. It got a little loud at night because of homeless people in the area, but that was outside anyone's control. I'll stay here again when I need a place for the night.

Really bad experience. I arrived Sunday morning and lasted less than 15 minutes because the place was infested with bed bugs. I got bumps all over my body. No one came out when I went to the office to tell them, so I left and lost $121.
