The night ended around 2 a.m., after a very drunk Hispanic man yelled Spanish curse words at a “lady-man” working girl or guy, then sped off and caused a crash straight out of a movie. Local law enforcement and first responders got there quickly and handled the chaos well. I hope nobody was badly hurt. Earlier in the evening, the long-term guests had provided plenty of entertainment, with working girls and guys, and every combination of the two, active on a Sunday night. The local pharmacy delivery was popular too. He’d drive around the building, and you’d wave him over, like an ice cream truck with no music and higher prices. We were there one night before a cruise, and I clearly picked badly. The room was disgusting, with burn marks all over, even on the bathroom tile. How do you burn tile? There was dark curly hair in the bathroom. At least we didn’t see bugs, so pest control seems to be doing its job. If you check reviews before booking, this isn’t the place for you.

The carpets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years, and the stains were way too much. I wore socks the whole time, and the non-smoking room still stank. We were in a rush to shower and get to an event, otherwise I would have asked to move. The bathroom was tiny and very dirty. I’m not usually one to complain, but this is an honest review. My ten-year-old called it a dump, and I agree. Do not stay here.

We picked this place despite the bad reviews because my husband drives a semi, and there aren’t many places nearby where a semi and trailer can park. They put us in a room facing the truck section, which was helpful so we could keep an eye on the truck. The bed and pillows were comfortable, sheets and towels were clean, and we didn’t see bugs. It was quiet outside except for someone who pulled up at night with loud music for a few minutes. The pool area looked clean, and the shower water was hot. The front desk man was nice, though he could smile and be a little friendlier. There are a Denny’s, McDonald’s, and a couple of gas stations within walking distance. There was a coffee pot in the room, but we didn’t go down to find out whether breakfast was available. The kids ran around briefly, which didn’t bother us. There should be a printed notice for truckers with reefer trailers saying the unit can’t run. That’s a hard rule to follow if the trailer is loaded and you’re stuck there over a weekend waiting for a weekday delivery, so I’d hope for some understanding in that situation. The flooring could be better, and housekeeping should wipe surfaces and clean the microwaves more carefully, or replace the outdated ones. We can’t speak to breakfast, but we had a good stay. You can’t always judge a place by its reviews; experience it for yourself.

Super 8 by Wyndham West Palm Beach charges $250 a night for a grimy room that felt as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly since the early 2000s. The phone didn’t work, so reaching the front desk seemed impossible, and I doubt they would have helped anyway. The old furniture, dirty floors, and questionable smells made the whole place feel run-down, unsafe, and uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. Calling it a hotel is generous. It felt like a sketchy crash pad charging Hilton prices, when on a bad day it wouldn’t be worth $10. That’s not budget lodging; it’s predatory pricing for a place that should be shut down or charging by the hour. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, friend or enemy. Save yourself the anger, regret, and urge to shower immediately afterward. Do not stay here, ever, under any circumstances.
