That breakfast has stayed with me for over a year. I still think about it at least once a week, and honestly, I’d hike the AT again just to have it. We arrived after two days of hiking in heavy rain, then spent two more days in below-freezing weather with all our wet gear getting frozen. The other rooms were full, so the shuttle driver gave up his own room for us. After a hot shower, I was tucked into that cute little room with tea in a sturdy mug, a homemade cookie, and some forgettable movie on TV. I don’t think I’ve ever felt happier.

The food really hit the spot after a long hike, and everyone was so welcoming to our dog. Shannon, David, and Kaeo were fantastic throughout. My husband and I left our car with them while we were on the trail, and they drove us to the trailhead for our Carver's Gap to 19E hike. I got sick in the car on the way there, and David kindly pulled over right away. Later, trouble on the trail meant we had to leave early. I called Shannon on Easter to ask if they could pick us up from the exit route we’d taken and bring us back to our car. They had a food truck to handle and it was a holiday, but they still came for us. We couldn’t find the precise pickup spot, and I was getting emotional after everything that had happened. Shannon reassured me they’d locate us, and David did. I can’t say enough good things about how they treated us. Also, the food is phenomenal.

I’ve stayed here three or four times, though this was my first stay in the B&B. The rooms were lovely and very clean, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. For a gateway to the Roan Highlands and Appalachian Trail, Mountain Harbor is wonderful. The Kitchen, their restaurant, serves tasty, filling meals that are just right for a hiker’s appetite. There was fun live music on Friday night, too. Mary, David, and Shannon were friendly and accommodating, and Trail Mix, the manager, is just the best.

The all-day coffee and tea were a nice touch, and the staff were really kind to work with. We used their shuttle to Carver's gap, hiked and camped near Little Hump/Bradley gap, then walked back to the inn and stayed in the Jefferson room. The bath was worth the splurge, and breakfast the next morning was great. A really good place to stay. Highly recommend.

Shannon and David are some of the nicest people you’ll meet, and Jake, one of their cats, is adorable and loves a cuddle. My boyfriend and I spent a night here before backpacking the Roan Highlands, and we loved it. The bedroom was really cute, and we shared the upstairs bathroom with the other room. It was my first bed and breakfast, and the whole stay was incredible. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had, especially the tomato pie. After our trip we grabbed a burger for lunch on the way out, and that was amazing too. They have a shuttle service as well. It felt like visiting family, and we’ll definitely come back 😊
