The staff were so pleasant and gave us helpful tips on places to eat and things to see nearby. We had a spacious, comfortable room with a lovely view of the water, and spent plenty of time sitting on the deck. It made a wonderful spot for celebrating our anniversary.

Donnamae made our special occasion feel personal. She left fresh flowers and sparkling grape juice in the room while we were out, and her local suggestions were great. We enjoyed Olives and Blue Water Grill for lunch, then Salt & Cypress and 1587 for dinner. She also pointed us to a quiet, scenic beach without crowds. We stayed in the Mary Carolyn suite in the Main Inn. It was even prettier than the photos, with a comfortable, elegant modern coastal style. The two decks were a favorite, especially the private side deck overlooking Roanoke Sound. We watched both sunrise and sunset from there each day. Burrus House Inn brought together a beautiful property and genuinely thoughtful hospitality. We left with lovely memories and hope to return.

My daughter's wedding took over the whole facility, and the open space and access to the property worked perfectly for our group. The rooms were ultra modern, and this is by far the nicest quality Inn with the best hosts I've encountered in years. I’d like to mention a problem, but there weren’t any.

We spent a lot of time on the covered porch in the Adirondack chairs, looking out over Shallowbag Bay. Our two bedroom, two bath suite #203 was clean and updated, and the Inn was quiet, set back from the main street. There’s a back door from the suite into the Inn, so it was easy to head downstairs for breakfast. The spinach pastries were a favorite. The family running the place is just the sweetest. Wine and cheese came out every day from 4-5, and delicious chocolate chip cookies were around all day. Restaurants are within walking distance, including a great pizza place across the street, and you can walk to the Christmas Shop too. My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay.

Vicky made everything feel warm and personal. She’s so welcoming and genuine, and really adds something special to the stay. We also loved breakfast in the Peacock room, and the late afternoon wine and charcuterie there was a delicious treat. Burrus House Inn is beautiful, comfortable, and clearly cared for with a lot of pride. A hidden gem for a getaway or a stay in Manteo. Highly recommend it.
