White Doe Inn

The owners were accommodating, and getting help by text was easy. They even served breakfast late for us since we're not morning people. There was plenty of complimentary food, from breakfast and happy hour to other sweet treats, though I wish I'd managed to eat more of it. The White Doe Inn was a pleasure to stay at. Its decor and overall look were just as charming as in the pictures, and the location worked perfectly for our plans. I also liked that some rooms have jetted tubs, which was a big part of how we chose where to stay. It felt well worth the price, and I would've loved to stay longer.

The food alone made the stay worthwhile. Tonia kept us well fed with multi-course breakfasts every day and a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. We had a great time chatting with other guests and hearing about their holiday adventures. Freshly baked chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies were left out for everyone, and they were delicious. We stayed in the Turrett bedchamber, which was very cozy, with a wraparound balcony, fireplace, and updated bathroom. There was ample free street parking right outside the Inn. It was a fantastic way to spend Thanksgiving, and we'll visit again.

For my wife's birthday and our anniversary, we spent the weekend at the White Doe Inn in Manteo and had a great time. The location made it easy to walk to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, and Festival Park. Donna was super friendly and helpful, and breakfast service was perfect. The delicious breakfast was enough to keep us going through lunch. We enjoyed the house and room amenities: homemade cookies in the lobby, s'mores at the fire pit, a bike ride, lovely weather on our balcony, a fireplace in our room, and board games on the front porch. We loved the stay and look forward to coming back.

The White Doe Inn has a lot of character, with spacious rooms and a patio, porch, and garden that make it feel like a small, elegant oasis. Dave and Tonia, the hardworking, friendly couple who recently bought the Inn and were giving it a makeover, gave us a warm welcome and great service. They served scrumptious gourmet-style breakfasts and snacks throughout the day, with wonderful gluten-free options as well. Manteo is a historic, quiet little village with its own charm, and this gracious inn made for one of the best B&B experiences we've had. It's a great place if you want somewhere tranquil and historic away from the hubbub. The Outer Banks beaches are about a 15-minute drive from the main highway through the Banks, and you'll need a short drive over the big bridge to reach the beaches. We highly recommend staying here.
