Comfort Suites Rochester Henrietta University Area

The staff were friendly, but the room needed a better cleaning. There were dirty plates in the pullout couch, grime on the TV screen, and something dripping down the walls. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, and the building’s only ice machine was broken.

There are lots of breakfast choices, and coffee is available in the lobby around the clock. The free morning breakfast is always amazing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

The employees were great, and the workout room was nice. The pool was big, but quite cold. We stayed a week and had a few problems with really loud people next door late at night.

It’s an affordable, decent place if you’re trying to save money, and the breakfast is okay. They have eggs and sausage, a few muffin choices, toast, bagels, and I think you can make waffles. Coffee is usually ready shortly before 6 a.m., but I prefer hotels where I can brew my own and choose how strong it is. The bed was okay, though not especially comfortable. The bigger issue is smoke. Smoking isn’t supposed to be allowed in the building, but people still vape or smoke marijuana in their rooms, and you can smell it in the hallway. You might even get woken up at 2 a.m. when someone sets off the smoke alarm. It is Rochester, after all.
