TownePlace Suites Rochester Mayo Clinic Area

Paul, Jeff, and Dan made the shuttle service the best part of our Mayo Clinic visit. Paul kept us laughing and telling stories on the ride, and Jeff and Dan were so kind about picking us up quickly when we called from the clinic. The shuttles ran every 30 minutes through the day, and the service was really well organized. Coming from the South to Minnesota in winter, that made a huge difference. My son, his wife, and I shared a two-bedroom suite that gave us plenty of room to relax between appointments, plus a full kitchen for all the meals we had in the room. Honestly, the shuttle alone is a reason to stay at TownePlace.

There was a big construction site right beside the hotel, so walking and driving around the area wasn’t very pleasant. We didn’t hear much noise during our winter visit, though, and it seemed like the work had stopped for the season. Inside, the hotel felt fresh, modern, and very clean. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a full-size fridge, microwave, electric stove, and dishwasher, which was especially handy with kids. Underground parking was convenient in the snow and cost $25 a night. Breakfast was the usual kind you get at an American hotel like this, nothing special.

We haven’t even started our stay, but the staff have already done more for us than we expected. The lobby is quiet, clean, and comfortable, and everyone has been very nice. They showed us two of the suites and we were impressed. Thanks to Nicki, Brittany, and the general manager for helping us sort out what we need while we’re here for the Mayo Clinic. I’ll update this in a few days.

The construction next door is a real nuisance. It’s noisy and makes getting to and from the hotel harder, and I’d guess it’ll continue for much of 2026. That said, the hotel itself is really nice and spotless, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Breakfast has lots of options and is always good. The gym is small, but it has modern equipment and is well equipped.
