Comfort Suites Rock Hill Manchester Meadows Area

The shower was clean, the rooms were clean, and everything else was good. We’ve always liked Comfort Inns, and this Comfort Suite was a great stay. We had to leave early in the morning, so we missed breakfast. We’ll definitely come back on our next trip.

The location and the service were the best parts. In room 204, I woke up to roaches in the bathroom and on the desk where I’d left my food. At checkout, I told the desk person what I’d seen. She said I should have reported it so they could fix the problem. At 5 a.m., or really any time, you can’t just fix a roach problem and expect a guest to stay.

The front desk guy was very nice, but the rest of the stay was awful. There was no warning about construction, and nobody answered the phones. The third floor was covered in tarps, the gym was unavailable, and the hot tub had a wooden panel over it even though it was advertised as working. That was the only reason we picked this place. The pullout couch we needed had old, nasty blood stains and smelled like someone lived there. The walls were dirty with old paint splatters, the carpet was greasy, and the bed had hair all over it. I’m guessing breakfast tomorrow will be printed pictures of food. For $140, this felt like staying through the first year of an apocalypse. The pictures are old and misleading. I’m praying we don’t bring home bed bugs or an STD. They should owe us that money for having to stay here. Please give your money to the homeless and ask to sleep in their tent instead.

I booked a free room through my Choice Rewards app the week before a weekend of homecoming events in the area. When I arrived, they asked for my driver’s license and credit card, then denied me because I didn’t live within 50 miles of the hotel. I checked Apple Maps, and I was 63 miles away. I asked if I could speak to the owners, but both associates refused. I called Choice hotel guest relations, and they showed no empathy. There was even a threat to call the police. I felt discriminated against and thought the hotel was money hungry. I had to pay for another hotel nearby because of this major inconvenience. I’ll never book here or at another Choice hotel again.
