The Mint Motel

The walkways had dog feces on them, the place was dirty, and people were constantly smoking weed. My toilet stopped working. I reported it and was told someone would come the next day, but it took four days for anyone to show up, and they still couldn’t fix it. The manager was rarely in the office and could take hours to respond. If you leave early, they absolutely refuse to refund you. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We gave a couple of months’ notice and booked a room for 30 days, but on the way there we called and were told there were no rooms. He’d given ours away, saying he had an overload of RB&b. Apparently, this has happened before, and his reviews make it look like it happens all the time. I guess a reservation means nothing to this guy. Don’t book with him.

I had to find another motel in town after waiting over an hour and getting nowhere. I’d booked three hours ahead, but the office was locked and nobody was there to check me in. I called the number on the door 8-10 times and got voicemail every time. A woman named Lisa arrived and kindly explained that the manager wasn’t there. She only helps him out and doesn’t work there, so she couldn’t check me in. Unless there was a serious emergency, taking our payment and then not showing up to do the job was absolutely unacceptable. It was a garbage situation. I’d recommend staying literally anywhere else in town.

Lisa went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great, and the staff were superior. The location was great too. The hotel has a cool retro vintage vibe. For an old building, it was surprisingly clean and refurbished, and the bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in.
